For Halloween 2017 we present one of the most infamous landmarks in San Francisco history. The Black House was a building that formerly stood at 6114 California St. The house was used by Anton LaVey as the headquarters of his Church of Satan from 1966 until his death in 1997.

Family members said Mr. LaVey died Oct. 29, but his death certificate lists him as having died Oct. 31 -- Halloween. Deepening the mystery, the family said they kept his death secret for a week in order not to distract his followers over their most important holiday season.

He was often seen walking in his neighborhood, bald head gleaming, black cape flapping. For years, he kept a lion and a tarantula as pets, and he spent hours each day playing eerie organ music that could be heard from the street.

In the spirit of 1966, this pin was designed and manufactured to our exacting US standards in true vintage style.
